Corfu is an island north west of Greece almost next to Albania. It is small enough to see everything on 1 week. You can get cheap flights from London with XL Airways or other charters. We booked with lastminute.com and had a cheap flights with crappy hours: 22:30 – 2:00 to go on there on Friday night and 4:00 – 6:00 on Saturday for the flight back… 
We were knackered!
But Corfu is a nice islands with pebbles beaches and nice backroads in the mountains. We rent a car fo 3 days and drove everywhere. The Pantokrator is their mountain… or should I say hill as the top is 900 meter and few peanuts! 
You can see the view in my banner. Roads aren’t great as they are generally really narrow… but don’ forget where I come from both cars need to have wheels on the side if you want to cross! 
So I know what that means to honk!!!

When we weren’t traveling by car, we were walking under a 39°C hot sun (29°C in the evening) or riding us bus with no air con!
